For this final project of my 2nd year, I designed an adaptable pavilion for the Berkeley Riverfront, located northeast of the River Market. Drawing from the city's rich ecological and musical heritage, the design fosters a harmony between community, performance, and native flora. Brutalist yet biomorphic, the pavilion asserts a sculptural presence distinct from the landscape, yet deeply engaged with its restoration.
In the Blurred Boundaries project I was Tasked with creating a screen with an aspect of nature as a precedent. I created conceptual posters as well as renders and construction diagrams illustrating how I transformed the values and principles of the cactus into a modular and customizable screen made from handcrafted triangular frames; able to be completely disassembled.
I was tasked with studying a precedent house by a well-known architect, and alongside a partner, replicating the design in plans, hand-rendered drawings, and finally, a 3D model.
Using drawings and pictures from the previous project I was tasked with creating abstract collages. After two iterations and six total collages, I created a 3D model of an object, which drew inspiration from the collages.
For my final project of the most recent semester I was tasked with doing an insertion project. I was assigned Jane Campion as if she were my client, and I was to design a residence where she could live and work in downtown Ames, IA.
